AT-802F Generation III Fire Response Dispersal System (FRDS GEN III) makes the most capable lightweight firegate better than ever!
The extensive update to the FRDS system includes more than 290 lbs of weight reduction, all-electric operation, 25% more flow rate, integrated AFF tracking/ATU telemetry system, integrated foam injection control, and much simpler operation than previous systems.
In partnership with Air Tractor, Trotter Controls continues to show excellence in cutting-edge firefighting technology with the development, certification, and manufacture of the Third Generation of the Fire Response Dispersal System used on Air Tractor’s AT-802F.
Trotter Controls produces over 40 turnkey GEN III firegate and control system kits annually in addition to the other products they design and manufacture.

Features
Max Flow Rate Increased
Due to a larger door opening and smoother flow path with fewer obstructions, the FRDS GEN III firegate can drop a full 800-gallon hopper load of water or retardant in a mere 1.4 seconds, a 25% increase over previous generations, solidifying it as the industry leader in maximum flow rate. The GEN III is IAB certified from coverages 0.5 to a whopping coverage 8 (highest and lowest SEAT ratings).
All-Electric Actuation
New technology pioneered by the electric vehicle market has enabled Trotter Controls to develop a compact, high-torque electric actuator with a custom gearbox, eliminating the need for messy hydraulics while increasing reliability and reducing maintenance.
CONSTANT FLOW
Constant flow is the name of the game, and our real-time flow-compensating technology is the best in the business. Our high performance gate provides the most ground line per gallon of retardant delivered. That means less wasted retardant and more effective firefighting.
UPDATED PILOT INTERFACE
The simple controls of the new Pilot Interface provide operator-friendly “set it and forget it” drops, allowing them to focus on safe and effective dispersal.
LIGHTWEIGHT GATEBOX DESIGN
The newly designed, highly-refined firegate and control system has allowed us to reduce the overall weight of the system by over 290 pounds. This weight reduction increases payload capacity so you can get the most out of your 802.
BUILT-IN AFF & ATU TRACKING
The system's brain is our custom DataVault, a solid-state, maintenance-free controller that replaces the previous mechanical relay box. The controller has built-in AFF Tracking and ATU telemetry capabilities with post-mission operations reporting.
CERTIFIED AND APPROVED
With FAA, EASA and Transport Canada STCs issued as well as USFS, IAB and BLM approval, FRDS GEN III has been greenlit to bring the fight to wildfires worldwide.
